Statewide veterans service organization with local American Legion posts across Maryland offering fellowship, community service, youth programs, scholarships, and advocacy for veterans and their families. Accredited service officers at the department level and many posts can assist eligible veterans in filing VA disability, pension, and survivor claims at no cost. Membership is open to honorably discharged wartime veterans; dues vary by post. Bring DD-214 and photo ID to join or to begin a claim.
